When I was a student at Catholic high school, I was involved in theater and enjoyed drama club. I eventually branched out and began my involvement with Footlight Theater, a local community theater. I can’t remember the timeline exactly, but I was probably 15 or 16 years old and my first “big” theater production experience was Cabaret. The theater at the time was housed in a warehouse space which provided the perfect atmosphere.
Besides being a drama geek, I was a Spanish geek as well. I studied Spanish for four years in high school and continued with classes at university. We had a weekly assignment to submit papers written in Spanish (along with the English translation) and I hopped on the Cabaret bus. I recently stumbled upon this gem while sorting through a box of papers. I used images from the Footlight program and included my own rendering of Sally Bowles.
